Flokoon - a visual search experience
Interesting concept, but more alpha then beta.
Flokoon, a visual search engine for catalog data.
Wikisend : need to send a file ?
Free File Sharing Service
With Wikisend it`s simple and free. Upload and download lots of files, big files, small files, data files, media files, archives or backups - any files. Share files with your friends using E-mail, MySpace page, your blog, forums and so on.
In my view an interesting concept but I don’t like the 100 MBytes limitation, also the no need to register makes it easy to spread viruses & co.
I like the options of defining the lifetime of the file ( 1-90 days ) and being able to protect the file with a set password. So based on only these two features I don’t see what the revenue model will be other than the obvious - more storage for mo money.
vawkr - instant group video chat
![]() |
Look Who’s Talking! - is the slogan of vawkr* - a nice instant video chat solution that allows you to put a video chat room on MySpace, Facebook, blog or any website. All you need to do is share your chat room’s URL.
This startup currently allows you to instantly “Grab a Room” and create a temporary online chat room that you and your buddies can use, without any sign-ups, forms or downloads.
crgslst - craigslist multi city search
![]() |
crgslst is an ajax driven search tool that allows you to search craigslist faster and scour multiple cities quickly.
From what I can tell this is an excellent tool and I wish there was such a thing for ebay.
You are able to search, define your locations and it will keep track of your past searches too. The results allow you to preview the listing, open it in a new window and the best thing is that you can bookmark specific items by clicking the “{ remember }” link.
If you use craigslist you might welcome this solution, I still think a price, date or location sorting option would have been nice to have. But maybe thats what they talk about on their options page.
Yahoo Maps with more data at the neighborhood level
![]() |
Yahoo released an update today for Yahoo Maps that adds more data to the neighborhood level.
They added 12,000 new neighborhoods in 300 cities and denote their boundaries with subtle changes in the background color, also points like school & subway stops are marked on the map.
